OSless
Delta Search Labs has been working on a new cooperative computing module, commercially patented as OSless that can be applied to the domain of the computer and embedded design. OSless is aimed to create a heterogeneous computing environment, with OS independence. Each of these cooperative modules has specific microprocessor cores working on specific tasks, providing the power and flexibility needed to meet increasing consumer demand for new and more sophisticated features.
The OSless system is an asynchronous MIMD, with several “processing elements” (PEs) working independently with shared and distributed memory structure, performing specific system tasks. The cooperative computing modules (OSless) represent a new type of application-specific system platform, where the hardware is tuned to its application. OSless is a new technology platform that will enable new computing power by building them up according to the user’s need.
